Public expenditure (current and capital) includes government spending on educational institutions (both public and private) and education administration as well as subsidies for private entities (students/households and other privates entities). In some instances data on public expenditure on education refers only to the ministry of education, excluding other ministries that spend a part of their budget on educational activities at a given level of education.
